Each instructor is certified by Live Scan on both the national and state level. They are registered with the FBI and the California Attorney General.




Master Alen Babayan
Alen Babayan began his martial arts training in 1986 at Fred Villari’s Martial Arts. In 1988 he transferred to United Studios of Self Defense studying Shaolin Kempo under then Sensei Kris Ezlinger. By 1991 he earned the rank of Shodan (1st degree black belt). His passion for the art lead him to pursue other forms of martial arts including Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Judo and Jiu-Jitsu, but found his way back to his rooted system of Shaolin Kempo and achieved the rank of Nidan (2nd degree black belt) in 1996.

In 2001, he had the honor of testing for the rank of Sandan (3rd degree black belt) at the Shaolin Temple in Dang Fang, China and returned for further training in 2004.

In 2006, he achieved the rank of Yondan (4th degree black belt), and in 2011, he earned his current rank of Godan (5th degree black belt) which also earned him the title of “Master”. He continues his training and is still pursuing his passion for the martial arts.
